TRAFFIC is a documentary film that arises in order to make known, from a committed and respectful perspective, examples of good practices in the tourists’ use of the humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) on the Oaxacan coast of Mexico. In addition, it is a sample of how the self-management of alternative dynamics, community science and the local community can contribute to the conservation of these marine organisms.
This project is a documentary film that emerged in April 2023 in the area of Mazunte, Oaxaca, by an international and multidisciplinary team. The productive support of this work was a fantastic combination where creators from Germany, Turkey, Mexico, Spain and France (in addition to surely more confluent latitudes) came together in an integral, collaborative and creative fabric, with a great diversity of languages and world experiences.
The result is a moving film with an eco-social perspective and with high doses of transformative will.
The calendar of events for its official presentation will be available soon.
